Billy has been leading worship since he was 15 years old singing for his youth group in Green Bay, WI. Since then he has led worship for thousands of people in churches, youth groups, retreats and conferences. He has been a part of a church plant and has been in churches of all sizes. He’s led worship ministries with significant budgets and led a church with a $0 worship budget.
All this experience allows Billy to understand each situation for what it is and bring the insight and counsel that will help each worship leader and church to grow from that point. He understands multi-generational churches and churches trying to transition to reach a younger generation.
He also understands that styles, methodology and technology change but leading people into the presence of God and making disciples is the only way to see lives transformed. This is the heartbeat of his ministry.
Billy was born in Chicago, IL. His dad was a football coach so they moved a lot when he was growing up. At a young age he realized that it wasn’t enough that his parents believed in God. He knew that at some point he would have to make their faith his own. So as best he could understand that at age 7, he prayed a simple prayer one night as his parents tucked him into bed. He prayed, “Jesus come into my heart.” God heard and answered that prayer.
Sports were a big part of Billy’s life. In high school, he was an all-conference football player. After high school he went to Liberty University on a football scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
For the past nineteen years, Billy has been the Worship Arts Pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, GA. Billy also ministers outside of his church as a singer/songwriter and worship leader. He has produced numerous musical recording projects for himself, his church and other artists. He also works with several members of the popular Christian band, Casting Crowns, at his church.
Billy lives in Stockbridge, GA with his wife, Cassie. They have four grown children, Mandy, Ryan, Kyle & Kenny and six grandchildren, Vanessa, Jacob, Victoria, Lyleigh, Cora and Henry.
